Atlanta in April has plenty to offer, with generally excellent weather, spring flowers, some of the area’s biggest events and spring festivals, and a full range of other activities and things to do. To many visitors, April is one of the best times of the year to see Atlanta.
Highlights of Atlanta’s April festivals typically include the immensely popular Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park, a celebration of arts, food and music; the big Atlanta Film Festival; and one of Atlanta’s best-attended neighborhood festivals, the Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes.
Other April events in Atlanta usually include a variety of food, music or arts festivals such as the SweetWater 420 Fest, Roswell Azalea Festival, Taste of Marietta, Sandy Springs Artspalooza or the spring edition of the twice-yearly Festival on Ponce. The Atlanta International Auto Show is usually also held in April, as is the Atlanta Bird Fest, a series of regional bird-focused events.
There are many other things to do in Atlanta in April too. Although most Atlanta attractions are on offer year-round, the best things to do in April take advantage of the spring weather and blooms.
You could pay a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Oakland Cemetery, or one of the many parks and nature sites in and around Atlanta. Sightseeing and outdoor dining in one of Atlanta’s several destination neighborhoods is another great spring activity.
