Sunny weather is common through the month (making it feel warmer than the temperatures suggest), and November often brings weather perfect for exploring Atlanta’s outdoor sights: visiting one of the city’s many parks or interesting historic cemeteries, browsing in one of its varied neighborhoods, or hiking in a nearby state park or nature reserve.

Any fall colors are likeliest the first week or so of the month, with the best displays typically found in the North Georgia mountains. Fall festivals this month bring many visitors to the North Georgia area, and to Atlanta itself.

In the event of any cooler or rainy weather, Atlanta also offers a wide range of indoor attractions, with dozens of museums, historic houses, art museums and other such points of interest, along with excellent shopping, dining, galleries and other things to do.

Atlanta’s inland location usually protects it from coastal hurricanes during the June to November hurricane season, but heavy rain, high winds and tropical storm conditions are possible throughout this period.
